“The LORD’S mercies indeed never cease, for His
compassions never fail. They are new every
morning; Great is Your faithfulness.”
Good morning and welcome to Dayton Avenue Baptist Church. God’s mercies to us are new every morning, but there is something special about worshipping together on Sundays that open the windows of heaven’s mercy even further. May each of us experience a heart full of new mercies from our Gracious God today.
The Puritans had a great saying: Sunday is Market Day for the Soul. Market Day for a Puritan was a big deal; you worked all week raising crops or producing handcrafts and goods, then on Market Day, you (and the rest of the community) travelled into town to buy, sell, and trade products as well as connect socially with one another. So, welcome to Market Day for the Soul today… I pray your “business” here is very profitable.
Our worship attendance increases this time of year. If seating is crowded in the sanctuary, you will find room in our Back Worship Service in the Youth Room. AWANA and CREW begin meeting here at church Wednesday evenings starting August 29th at 6:30, and we still need workers. Please contact the pastors or church office if you can help. The Mike Hagen Strength Team ministry will be here to do a special program starting at 7:00 that same night. Go to our church website for more information (www.daytonave.org).
Next week is the start of our Multiple Worship Hour Schedule on Sunday, August 19th. LifeGroups will be meeting both hours (from 9:30-10:30 and from 11:00-12:00) and room assignments will change. Brochures with all the info you need are available for you today.
Welcome to our new members who joined the last Sunday: Albert, Brenda, Jonathan, Libby, and Freddy Grunenwald. If you didn’t get a chance to welcome them yet, seek them out today and do so. May God bless you this week as you live for Him.
