Welcome to worship this morning at Dayton Avenue, and a special welcome back to our college students. Multiple Worship Services begin today which means that we have to learn some new routines for worship and LifeGroups. The Welcome Desk just outside the sanctuary is the place to start, but any of our pastors, greeters, or ushers are also ready to help. If seating is crowded in the 11:00 service, today would be a great day to try out the Back Service in the Youth Worship area. I think you will like it.
Welcome to Tom and Amy-Hope Guisleman who became members last Sunday in our Back Service. If you haven’t done so already, give them (and their boys Luke and Lance) a warm welcome to our church family.
Let me take an opportunity to say a word here about joining our church. We host a Member Information Luncheon every 6-8 weeks that gives us a chance to get to know one another better, share the important biblical truths that we teach and preach, explain how members are central to the way our church functions, and answer any questions that newcomers have. After attending that session, people interested in joining meet with one of our pastoral staff to share their testimony and determine how to get involved in ministry and LifeGroups. The final step in the process is to come forward at a service so that we can corporately affirm and receive that person into membership.
Some of you are at that last step – can I encourage you to consider joining officially on September 6th? We will be having a special Communion Service, similar to the Covenant Sunday service we had last fall. If you have any questions, we are here for you. God bless you this week as you live for Him. We love you.
