asdfsdFor thus says the high and exalted One Who lives forever, whose name is Holy, “I dwell on a high
and holy place, and also with the contrite and lowly of spirit….”
Isaiah 57:15a

Good morning and welcome to worship at Dayton Avenue.  In the verse above, God promises His life-giving presence to be with the contrite and lowly of spirit.  He is awesome and together we express our need of His life and grace.  If seating is crowded in the 11:00 service, you will find room in our Back Service in the Youth Worship area.  I recommend you try it – there is great worship and a more intimate atmosphere in that service that I think you will like.

Last fall we voted to adopt a new church constitution (which you can be view from the “What We Believe” page of our church website).  On the last page of that document, we directed the Constitution Revision Committee to reconvene one year later in order to assess how the new constitution has functioned and to address any concerns that have arisen.  That assessment has begun and the committee invites your suggestions for their consideration.  Please put your thoughts in writing and submit to our church office between now and September 20th.  Thank you.

Next Sunday, September 6th, we will be focusing on the Peace of God and participating in a special Communion and Covenant Renewal Service.  In addition, we will be receiving some new members to our church.  If you are ready to join, too, please give me or one of the other pastors a call this week so that we can be ready for you.

As always, there are a many great opportunities for you to be encouraged in your faith and serve the Lord – more information is inside this bulletin and on our website.  We love you, we pray for you, and we are here for you this week.
