“I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.” ~John 8:12~

Welcome to worship at Dayton Avenue.  Sunday mornings are a busy time for the devil as he attempts to prevent us from worshiping and hearing from God’s Word.  But despite sleeping through the alarm, despite your allergies, despite the stresses of getting everyone dressed and ready, despite the mechanical problems with your vehicle, you’ve made it to church today!  Greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world!

The Costa Rica Mission team wraps up their ministry today and will head home.  Thank you for praying for them and helping support this project financially.  We are planning another Baptism Celebration soon.  If you have trusted Jesus Christ for salvation and want to publically proclaim your faith in baptism, please talk with me or any of our pastors soon.  This evening is our August OutPour fellowship – come back at 6pm and be a part of helping minister to our community (we’ll be serving pizza).

If you came through the main entrance this morning, you probably noticed the “Fresh Vegetables” table.  Many in our church family have gardens and like to share what they’ve grown.  Help yourself to what you see on that table in the weeks ahead, and if you are a gardener, feel free to share your surplus produce.

Jesus was a people-builder: He looked beyond the surface and reached into the hearts of people.  We can do the same with a simple act of love and encouragement to someone the Lord puts in your path.  We love you (and we like you, too!).  May the Lord bless you this week as you faithfully live for Him.
