And when they had opened their treasures,
they presented unto Him gifts;
gold and frankincense and myrrh
.

~ Matthew 2:11 ~

Welcome to Dayton Avenue this morning.  We are so glad to worship with you.  Like the wise men above, you made a journey here today, and we pray that you are truly able to worship Jesus and meet with Him in a special way.

We are highlighting the Lottie Moon Christmas offering for missions this month.  There is a direct connection between our gifts here and changed lives all around the world.  The videos we show each week demonstrate how the seeds we sow today can bring forth fruit for decades to come.  If each of us can give a special gift of $30 toward this offering, we will meet our goal.  Thank you for praying and giving.

Next Sunday we begin our Christmas Single Worship Service schedule – there is an insert that contains all of the details you’ll need to know.  Next Sunday evening is our business meeting – we’ll vote on some encouraging church decisions and I’ll share a Pastor’s Perspective.  Please come and participate.

Snow hasn’t fallen yet, but we occasionally have to cancel church during the winter months.  Level 3 snow emergencies are automatic cancellations; Level 2s are probable cancellations – check our website (daytonave.org), Facebook (Dayton-Avenue-Baptist-Church) or tune into WHIO-TV (channel 7 or whiotv.com) for information.

Throughout the year a group of folks meet here at our church to knit, quilt, and crochet items that they give away to people going through difficult medical or economic times. This year Hands Creating Comfort (as they call themselves) made and gave away 80 blankets, 103 pillow cases, 16 prayer shawls, 135 child hats, 119 baby hats, 82 scarves, 15 pairs of mittens, 11 burp cloths, and 99 wash cloths!  Thank you!

We love each of you and thank the Lord for you.
