For today in the city of David there
has been born for you a Savior,
who is Christ the Lord.”

~Luke 2:11 ~df
Welcome to our special Children’s Christmas program, Jesus Light of the World.  My special thank you to all our preschool and children’s ministry workers… your faithfulness and labor of love make a huge difference to our church family.  God bless you for all you are and all you do.

Our Lottie Moon Christmas missions offering is drawing to a close today and next Sunday.  We are much closer to our goal of $15,000.  Thank you for praying and giving for this special need.

The Personnel Committee has made a recommendation to the Pastors and Deacons concerning the vacant Associate Pastor position.  Their proposal was well-received and has prompted me to ask Bruce Traeger to research the ramifications and benefits we might expect before presenting the proposal to the church.  Pastor Bruce’s unique blend of experience, contacts, and gifts will enable him to capture the kind of input we’ll need before deciding to move forward.  He has graciously agreed to serve with our Pastors, Deacons, and other church leaders in this volunteer lay-pastor research capacity.

If you desire to make a special end-of-year gift, please take care of that this week.  Next Sunday is the last regular offering of the year; gifts sent by mail must be postmarked on or before the 31st.  Our financial secretary often has a last minute rush of processing, so thank you for helping with this.

We get to celebrate the Baptism of Rene Panosian and Tim Traub this morning – be sure to encourage them.  At this time of year when we tend to count our blessings, you all stand out.  We love you and want to express the joy and privilege we feel in serving with you.  We pray God’s highest blessings on each one of you.  Thank you for your faithfulness, your servants’ hearts, and your obedience to Jesus Christ.
