“For today in the city of David there
has been born for you a Savior,
who is Christ the Lord.”
Welcome to Christmas Worship this morning, we are so glad that you are here. The angels declared the wonder of Jesus’ birth, and we have the privilege today of celebrating together His coming to bring salvation.
The news has been buzzing this week with the tax reform changes coming next year. Some of you have asked about deadlines for making year-end gifts under the current tax code. Gifts given today or next Sunday will appear on your 2017 giving statements. Thank you for your generosity to our church ministries and to our special Lottie Moon Christmas Missions Offering this month.
Ronnie and Sharon Seaton joined our church last Sunday. If you didn’t get a chance to greet them last week, look for them today and welcome them home! Last Sunday evening I shared a very significant Pastor’s Perspective. If you weren’t here for that meeting, please go to our church website – www.daytonave.org – and click on the Pastor’s Perspective graphic and listen to it (it’s about 32 minutes long).
I get to work alongside a great team of servants here at church: our office and custodial staff, our pastors, and the MANY volunteers whose faithful labor of love keeps the ministries moving forward. We truly have an amazing team… and an amazing church family. You are a gift of God to me personally, and on behalf of the other pastors and staff, we want to thank you for the many gifts and expressions of your love to us this year and especially these past few weeks. May God shine His face upon each of you as you celebrate the birth of our Savior and honor Him through your Christmas traditions. Have a blessed Christmas.
