You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart
and with all your soul and with all your mind…
You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
Welcome to worship at Dayton Avenue this morning. We are grateful that you have come and have been praying that you will experience God’s blessing. I’m happy to extend a special welcome to my friends Kent and Cindy Spann this morning. Kent will preach this morning and begin this year’s focus on Christ’s advent.
Our church is committed to missions. The Mission Home serves as a retreat for missionaries on furlough and in transition. The Living Well Clinic ministry we opened in 2012 continues to serve our neighbors with free medical and spiritual help. Individuals in our church family serve around the world on Short-term and Vocational Missions supported by the missions-giving of our church. We receive special offerings at Easter and Labor Day for North American and Ohio church planting efforts, and we partner with Operation Christmas Child each fall. But the largest single mission project we have each year is the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for world missions.
This year we have set a goal of $20,000 for this special offering. Will you ask God to enable you to give a special gift this month to help spread the good news of Jesus around the world? The inserts in this bulletin have more information for you.
This evening is the Cedarville University Community Christmas Concert at 6:00pm, so we will not have our regular evening service here at church. Due to a few complications this year, we will not be having our traditional cookie fellowship afterward, so sorry. Next Sunday we’ll have a Baptism Celebration at the end of our 11am worship service. If you want to take this important step of obedience and identification as a follower of Jesus, please let one of the pastors know so you can be included.
May God bless you and keep you this Advent season.
