“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good
works, which God prepared beforehand
so that we would walk in them.”
Welcome to Dayton Avenue this morning. God is worthy of all our praise and we are glad that you have gathered to worship Him with us. Whether you are a first-time guest or a long-time family member, we pray that you are drawn closer to Jesus today.
Far too often we read headlines that include the words “School Shooting.” Our society reacts so strongly to these atrocities because our children are helpless and innocent and precious, so we demand justice and safety for them. That seems like an obvious, unarguable statement, but it is not because our society has chosen to withdraw justice and safety for helpless, innocent unborn babies. It is a glaring double standard.
We stand today with millions of others in support of the Sanctity of Human Life. In addition to speaking out – and voting – on behalf of the unborn, we put this into practice by being spiritually healthy parents, investing in our family’s spiritual inheritance, and providing compassionate help for those who find themselves in a desperate situation with a baby on the way. Our children truly are a heritage and a gift from God (Psalm 127:3).
On both ends of the platform are supplies of our church ministry notebooks. The sermon note pages fit in these, making it easy for you to organize your Bible study materials and use it as a prayer journal. They are a free resource for you, so if you don’t have one yet, please help yourself to one today.
Many of you will resonate with the sermon from 2nd Corinthians 4 today because you are going through suffering right now. Please know that we love you and are praying for you. Don’t hesitate to call on us this week so we can help you and pray more specifically for you.
