For thus says the high and exalted One Who lives forever, whose name is Holy, “I dwell on a high and holy place, and also with the contrite and lowly of spirit….” ~Isaiah 57:15a~

Happy New Year! Welcome to Dayton Avenue this morning.  If this is your first-time with us, please visit the Welcome Desk and get a guest gift bag.  We are so glad that we can begin the new year with you worshiping our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  We have much to praise Him for today!

If seating is crowded in our worship service up front today, you will find room in our Back Worship Service in the Youth room.  There is a more intimate atmosphere in that service that I think you will like. Multiple Worship Services begin again next Sunday which means that LifeGroups will also meet at both 9:30 and 11:00.  Being part of a small group community is a really important part of our walk of faith.  If you don’t have a LifeGroup, why not make 2020 the year you search and join one?  We are here to help you any way we can.  Check out all the other important announcements inside this bulletin!

Many of you have told Sarah and me that you are praying regularly for us.  I cannot thank you enough for your prayers.  Take a moment this morning to silently thank God for His many blessings and ask Him to speak to all of us in a special way during our time together today. On behalf of the other pastors and staff, we want to thank you for the many gifts and expressions of your love to us this year and especially these past few weeks at Christmas time.  You are all a tremendous blessing to us.

Beginning a new year can be motivating: a fresh start, hope-filled possibilities, the beginning of a new chapter.  My prayer is that God draws each of us closer to Himself in 2020, both as individuals and as a church family.  I love each of you and love being your pastor.  May God bless you greatly as you live for Him in this coming year!
