For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

~ Romans 1:16 ~

Welcome to worship at Dayton Avenue this morning.  All around the world, believers are gathering on this day – the first day of the week – to celebrate the resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ.  Our prayer is that He is lifted up and that our hearts are encouraged as we praise Him and study His word today.

The decorations and signage around the church tell us that this is Vacation Bible School Week!  My special thanks to Char Gates, Pastor Robert, and all the fantastic workers who are helping to make this important ministry possible.  Pray for VBS this week… and bring a few kids out to VBS every evening (6:00-8:30) if you can.  This evening at 6:00 we will have a special business meeting to consider adding another pastoral position to our church staff.  Please come as we share information and praises.

Did you realize we have a small Children’s Library of books and DVDs located on the shelves below the church family mailboxes?  We use an honor check-out system; take what you want and bring it back when you are done.  The Adult Library resources are located on the shelves by the triple-doors in the back wing of the building.  By the way, if you do not have a mailbox yet (they are located in the hallway near the Children’s Ministry Welcome Counter), please call the church office this week and we will give you one.

If you came through the main entrance this morning, you probably noticed the “Fresh Vegetables” table.  Many in our church family have gardens and like to share what they’ve grown.  Help yourself to what you see on that table in the weeks ahead, and if you are a gardener, feel free to share your surplus produce.  We are praying for you.  May the Lord shine His face upon you this week.
