“Your kingdom come,
Your will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.”
Welcome to WORSHIP at Dayton Avenue this morning. Worship is a word that we use often, but we probably need to think about it in much broader terms. Let’s say you’ve discovered a restaurant that has delicious food, low prices, friendly service, and just the right ambience. You’d tell them how great it is, write a glowing online review, and go back as often as possible to enjoy everything on the menu. In a similar way, worship is not just singing God’s praises; it includes telling others about how great He is and going to Him as often as possible so that you can enjoy Him more and more.
Vacation Bible School this week was some great worship! Many joyful volunteers served faithfully every night, sweet relationships were made, and children kept coming and brought their friends. It was a great opportunity to share the love of Jesus and His salvation with children and to worship the Lord in doing it all. It’s been a huge joy for me to see so many of you loving on those children! Thank you!!
Welcome to all the new members who joined the last two Sundays: Scott & Paula, Evan, Emily, Ethan, and Elise Hunnemeyer, Abigail Hannay, and Timothy Stevenson! If you didn’t get a chance to welcome them yet, seek them out today and do so. Last Sunday evening our church voted to begin the search for a Senior Associate / Executive Pastor. Please be praying for the Lord’s clear leading for our church in that important decision.
Next Sunday we will remember the sacrifice of our Savior around the Lord’s Table, (the elements we use are gluten-free). God has been so good to us all, and it is amazing to see Him at work here in our church and our community. It is a blessing to serve Him together with all of you. We love you, we are praying for you, and we thank the Lord for you. May He bless you greatly this week as you live for Him.
