I look to You for help, O Sovereign LORD.

You are my refuge…

~Psalm 141:8a~

Welcome to worship at Dayton Avenue this morning.  Around the world, believers are celebrating the resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ.  We, too, desire to lift Him up and encourage one another as we worship Him and study His Word today.

Last Sunday we highlighted the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church.  Today is Veteran’s Day and it is appropriate that they happen close together: the freedoms that we enjoy (but which other believers around the world do not) come at a great cost.  We must be good stewards of our freedom – may God help us to worship and serve Him faithfully.  Thank you, veterans, for your sacrifice and courage on our behalf.  God bless you.

This evening is our annual special business meeting.  Please come and hear all that God is doing in our church.  We’ll preview and discuss next year’s ministry budget and vote on recommendations from the Nominating and Personnel Committees concerning new committee members and staffing changes.  Today is the last chance to nominate someone you know for a Thanksgiving food basket.  You can also help put the baskets together and deliver them this Saturday morning.

Next week is Covenant Sunday, an opportunity for us to renew our commitment to the Lord and to one another and to fellowship around the Lord’s Table.  Also, next Sunday morning you’ll have a chance to take a tour of our church’s Mission home (more information inside).

Some of you noticed a Xenia police officer walking through our church last Sunday morning.  Nothing dangerous was happening… just the opposite.  Our police department wants to make their presence known more visibly in light of recent church shootings.  I thought you’d like to know that for the next time you see this happening!  May the Lord shine His face upon you this week as you live for Him.
