“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts,
to which indeed you were called in one body;
and be thankful.” ~Colossians 3:15~

Welcome to Dayton Avenue this morning – if you are a first-time guest, I hope you received your welcome bag and homemade bread as you were greeted on the way in.  If not, be sure to stop at the welcome desk and pick one up on the way out (the bread is really good).

Today is Covenant Sunday – an opportunity for us to renew our commitment to the Lord and to our church family, including a time of communion in observing the Lord’s Table.  [The elements are gluten-free.]  This evening at 6:00 will be our Thanksgiving Pie social.  In addition to prasing the Lord through music and enjoying wonderful pie together(!!), four of our church family will be sharing about mission trips they took this summer. Please come and bring some yummy pie (or other dessert) to share.  There will be no services this Wednesday evening – enjoy a safe and Happy Thanksgiving.

Many of you serve our community in unique ways and share the love of Jesus with people you meet.  As a church, we plan monthly events to share information about opportunities to serve and to pray for the Lord to open doors for us.  We call these events OutPour.  Next Sunday morning all of us can participate in a special OutPour project – a Christmas Cookie bag.  Each family or person will receive a bag of cookies with a greeting tag and an invitation to our church’s special Christmas services.  This way, all of us can do something special to reach out to someone with the love of Jesus this Christmas.

God is at work here in our midst and in our community, and it is humbling to think God is involving us in it.  We (your pastors) love you and uphold each of you in prayer.  Thank you for your faithful labor of love to the Lord through our church.  May He bless you this week.
