Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast of his might, and let not a rich man boast of his riches; but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me….
Welcome to worship at Dayton Avenue – we are so thankful that you are here. You may have come back today after a great Thanksgiving break, refreshed and relaxed. Or, you may be here today hanging on by a thread, having carried some heavy burdens this week. God knows, and He has a word of hope for each of us today.
Each year during the Christmas season, Southern Baptist churches join together to receive a special offering for worldwide missions, referred to as the Lottie Moon offering. During the month of December, we will be highlighting – via videos – some of what God is doing in the lives of people around the world through our giving. God is using us all to accomplish things that are much bigger than what we could imagine. So please join me in praying for how God would have us respond. Next Sunday, we’ll have special envelopes inserted into the bulletin for your Lottie Moon gifts.
Next Sunday evening is the Cedarville University Community Christmas Concert at 6:00pm. Due to a few complications this year, we will not be having our traditional cookie fellowship afterward, so sorry. There will be a Baptism Celebration on Sunday morning, December 10th. If you want to take this important step of obedience and identification as a follower of Jesus, please let one of the pastors know so you can be included.
Sarah and I are away this week on some vacation, but our hearts will be with you. Pastor Caleb will be finishing our sermon series in Colossians this morning by encouraging us about the way God wants to use our singing to one another as a vital part of our walk of faith. We love you and thank the Lord for you.
