“Your kingdom come,
Your will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.”
Welcome to worship at Dayton Avenue this morning. Sarah and I missed being with you last week while on vacation. It’s great to be back. It’s a great privilege to celebrate several baptisms at the end of the 11:00am Worship Service. We do baptisms as often as we can – it’s one of the best church family things we do.
Today we are highlighting the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church. More Christians are persecuted and martyred on our watch than at any other time in history since the Church began. We owe a debt of solidarity to our persecuted brothers and sisters, and I ask you to join me this week in a concerted wave of prayer. In our café area hangs a poster with suggestions about how to pray for this need. For even more info, visit idop.org or icommittopray.com.
This Wednesday evening is our OutPour dinner starting at 6pm. The food will be provided and prepared so that it will be super convenient for you to come straight from school or work. Next Sunday evening is our annual special business meeting. We’ll preview and discuss next year’s ministry budget and vote on recommendations from the Nominating and Personnel Committees concerning new committee members and staffing changes. Come and be a part of both of these important events in the life and ministry of our church.
Each year at Thanksgiving and Christmas we serve our community by delivering food baskets. Use the bulletin insert to nominate people you know would be encouraged by a food basket. You can also help put the baskets together and deliver them on Saturday the 17th.
On behalf of all of us pastors and wives, thank you for the many sweet expressions of love you gave us during Pastors Appreciation Month. We love you and love serving the Lord together with you. God has blessed us with a wonderful Dayton Avenue church family!
