My heart and my flesh may fail,
But God is the strength of my heart
and my portion forever.
Welcome to worship at Dayton Avenue – we are so thankful that you are here. You may have come back today refreshed after a great fall break, or you may be hanging on by a thread, having had a difficult week. God knows, and He has a word of hope for each of us. My special thanks to Dr. Dan DeWitt who will be preaching this morning while Sarah and I are finishing up a little vacation.
Sunday evening November 11th is our annual special business meeting when we preview next year’s ministry budget. We’ll praise the Lord for all He has done during the past year and share the opportunities awaiting us in the coming year. The Nominating and Personnel Committees will also present recommendations concerning new committee members and staffing changes. We encourage you to come and be a part of this important process of our church ministry.
Each year at Thanksgiving and Christmas we serve our community by delivering food baskets. We ask our church family to nominate people you know who would be encouraged by this simple act of kindness. Having a direct connection with someone in our church opens doors for witness and makes this truly a ministry. Fill out the insert and put it in the offering plate and/or help assemble and deliver the baskets. Speaking of Christmas, we have some wonderful special programs coming in December, and you can be involved. Speak with Pastor Caleb about participating in the adult choir and Pastor Robert or Sarah Young about how to be involved in the Children’s Christmas program. More information will also be included inside the bulletin.
Next Sunday we’ll celebrate several baptisms – if you have placed your faith in Jesus and want to publicly testify that you belong to Him, please let a pastor know today so that you can be included. DST ends next Sunday – enjoy the extra hour of rest. May God bless you.
