You love Him even though you have never seen Him. Though you do not see Him now, you trust Him; and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy.

~1st Peter 1:8~

Welcome to Dayton Avenue this morning.  We will be observing the Lord’s Table in our worship today, remembering the cruelty of Jesus’ Cross, the selflessness of His Sacrifice, and the magnitude of His Great Love for us.  Observing Communion is an act of obedience as well as a personal recommitment to live our lives for Jesus.  That is what true worship is really about – serving our Savior.  [Note: the bread and the grape juice are gluten-free.]

We are receiving a special Missions Offering this month to support church planting and camp ministries here in Ohio.  You can use the envelopes at the Welcome Desk or simply mark your special gift “Ohio Missions.”  Sunday October 7th is our Community Fall Festival!  This is a great outreach event for our community and we need your help inviting your neighbors to come and then serving that night.  I’ll be sharing more about this with you this morning from the platform.

We are planning another Baptism Celebration service soon.  If you have placed your faith in Jesus and want to publicly testify through baptism that you belong to Him, please let one of the pastors know so that you can be included.  You can have your portrait taken for our new Church Family Pictorial Directory just outside our main entrance today and the next two Sundays.  We want you to be included if you consider Dayton Avenue to be your church home.

Tonight at 6:00pm is a Town Hall meeting to hear a report from the Long Range Planning Committee about its work with the architects this spring and summer concerning making room for our growing church family.  Though we will not be voting on any proposals tonight, this is an important meeting for all of us as we seek the Lord’s leading and provision.  You’ll have an opportunity to ask questions, so please come and participate.  We love you and thank the Lord for you.
