“All things were made by Him;
and without Him nothing was
made that was made.” ~John 1:3~
Welcome to Dayton Avenue today? Did you notice that there was a question mark at the end of that first sentence? Did you think it was a typographical error? Shouldn’t a welcome end with an exclamation point instead? Why would Pastor Jon write an entire paragraph of questions here?
Years ago, G. Campbell Morgan wrote, “Faith is the answer to a question; and, therefore, it is out of work when there is no question to ask.” Ponder that quote. When we stop asking questions about God and about His word, our faith is out of work, or, put another way, we are not growing spiritually any more. So here is one last question for you: how can we help you with the spiritual questions you have right now?
There are many ministry opportunities available here to help you, and today is the Ministry Fair (spread throughout the building). Learn about all that is available and get connected as a learner and/or a server. Sarah and I will host the first Marriage TuneUp this evening at 6:00 – I’ll share more just before my message.
This month we are receiving the Ray Roberts missions offering that funds Ohio church planting and Seneca Lake Camp ministry. Would you pray and ask the Lord to enable you to give an extra gift this month toward this special offering? Thank you. We will celebrate several baptisms next Sunday morning at the end of the 2nd worship service. If you want to publicly testify that you belong to Jesus through baptism, please let me know today.
I am praying for you. Thank you for praying for me, my family, and our entire team of pastors and leaders. We love you.
