Self-sufficiency, independence, and isolation. Hallmarks of the American church. Just the thing that makes God vomit. What hope is there for the church that doesn't need God? Or are we doomed to walk in the clouds, mindlessly building Babel? For the church that has everything, what can Jesus possibly offer? Jesus' message to the Laodiceans is a harsh critique, but he offers a stunning promise to those who will run away with him and walk in a new reality.
