Worship Ministry

Worship Ministry

Worship ministry at Dayton Avenue Baptist Church exists to glorify God by praising his name through music and technological support of the services. We believe that worship is important for every believer as that is why we were created. We believe that music has three important roles in the live of the church:

To be used to give thanksgiving and praise to God
To be used to give thanksgiving and praise to God

“Make a joyful shout to God, all the earth! Sing out the honor of His name; Make His praise glorious. Say to God, ‘How awesome are Your works!’” – Psalm 66:1-3a

To encourage discipleship
To encourage discipleship

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another, in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” – Col. 3:16

To proclaim the saving grace of Christ
To proclaim the saving grace of Christ

“Oh, sing to the Lord a new song! Sing to the Lord, all the earth. Sing to the Lord, bless His name; Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day.” – Psalm 96:1-2

Service Opportunities

We have several opportunities for you to be involved in music and worship at DABC.

Praise Team and Band

These positions are for skilled musicians high-school age and above with playing and singing experience.  Auditions are required, and the ability to play and sing from a chord chart are expected.  Vocalists are expected to be able to harmonize.

Tech Team

We have needs in the tech booth for a variety of positions, supporting our audio and video production needs. We need volunteers to run the lyric computer, lights, video cameras and switching, and audio for the auditorium and live stream.

Children's Choir

We have a children’s choir seasonally for children grades 1-5. Please see Pastor Robert or Sarah Young for more information.

Adult Choir and Orchestra

Historically we have had both of these groups, but we are regrouping after COVID.  Please let us know if you are interested in participating.
